American Politics Notes

George Washington's warning …?

I thought a lesson that my history teacher taught tenth grade (do not ask who was two years ago.) I remembered that He said that before Washington left office, warned U.S. politicians in a number of things and one of their warnings is avoid multi-party politics. Now, correct me if my teacher is wrong (because it was in the powerpoint and I had it in my notes), but if that is what he said, what think American politics would be if our ancestors had heard?

Just to clarify that Washington had three important caveats in his farewell address, as mentioned the dangers of political parties, the importance of avoiding debt and how credit is important, and the risk of being trapped in foreign affairs as permanent alliances, and others. Now its warning about political parties can offer a little utopian but look where summer political parties have led us in the 1800s? The bloodiest war in American history and politics today looks and how the Democratic and Republican are diametrically opposed and, in particular in recent months or years, have not been able to cooperate or compromise so easily all of which cause an obstruction in the Senate and the House with very little happening in the way of real progress. Because even if the Democrats are the majority in the Senate and House Republicans could still block any legislation by the obstruction of the bill. In essence, extend the debate on the proposal not to let a vote indefinitely. Filibusters can be done by invoking fence forces at the end of the discussion and submit the proposal to a vote, but to run the fence should be closing 3/5ths majority (60 votes) that the Democrats have no (Republicans hold 41 seats, Democrats have 57 seats and independent control two seats). It is difficult to say what would happen if we have heard, can not by a civil war is an important difference, but other then that due to the drastic change I will be able to say that we would not be where we are today, do not say it would be better, but you can not really say for sure everything possible for the most important points or parts of history are often unexpected and unpredictable.
