Barack Obama’s health care reform?
i didnt really pay attention to what exactly it will do. so can someone give me some information on how its gonna work and when it starts working. my dad told me that parents can have their kids until age 26 in their health care plans. im not sure though. i really hope he is right. i dont have any insurance and ive been without it for 2 years now. i got denied medical twice already.
also, is it true that the whole thing will take place in 2014?
yea, it sounds like a bad reform and all but hey, i need this and alot of other people need this too. Im 20 yrs old right now and i got cut off when i turned 18. i thought it was till i turned 21. when will my dad be able to put me as dependant again?
Your father is correct in that parents can have their kids on their health care plan until they turn 26.
The first link below gives the time line when all the provisions of the bill take place. It says the age 26 provision takes place in 2010. I read somewhere that this is actually September, 2010, but I can’t find an link which specifically states that. I suppose your father can call his insurance company to find out for sure.
The second link gives pretty good basic explanation of the entire bill. It will take about 10 to 15 minutes to read the whole thing.
