Obama Encourages Moms To Return To School

Despite the

horrific conditions of the current economy, this would be a wonderful time period to consider returning to college. With the financial aid available to mothers through Obama’s new program and scholarships like ‘Moms Return to School’ financial help is not hard to come by. By returning to school now you are preparing for when the economy turns around. Completing your bachelor degree or studying further ahead will increase your income which ultimately will increase the standard of living for you and your children.
Through the support of President Barack Obama himself and his administration this is the perfect time for mothers to return to school to achieve a higher education. Within the Obama’s new stimulus program there is section that is strictly dedicated to help financially support mothers to return to school. This particular program focuses on being economically responsible for expenses like tuition, housing, books as well as other necessities in achieving their education.

President Obama’s administration created a new stimulus package which included a section regarding Federal Pell Grant. The purposes of these grants are part of Obama’s plan to in crease the re-enrollment of mothers into the education system. The grants were $4050 but increased to $5100 to give low income student more incentive to obtain a college education. During Obama’s presidency one of the first bills that were introduced was the Federal Pell Grants. This grant would be extremely beneficially to mothers trying to re-enroll in school. In order to apply for a pell grant one must first select the university or college you wish to attend, meet with a financial aid adviser and then fill out you FASFA form and have it submitted. It is important to remember that FASFA must be submitted by March 2nd the year before enrollment begins. While you are at the financial aid office it would be good to consider asking your adviser what other scholarships or grants that you could apply for. Often campuses have different scholarships that cater to that specific university exclusively. When speaking with your financial adviser it is important to beware of the scholarship and grant deadline applications as well.

The American Opportunity Tax Credit program is another important aspect to Obama’s new stimulus program. The American Opportunity Tax Credit states that your first $4,000 of a higher education will be completely free. Through programs such as this one knows it is possible to return to college even regardless of your financial situation.
The other option that one can apply for is for grants for online study Obama’s program ‘Mom’s Return to School’ can be used towards a traditional campus or taking courses online. Online classes tend to be more desirable for some moms because it allows more flexibility with their busy schedules as well as taking the class from home. It is never too late to get started! Remember what President Obama said “It’s time for change!”
