If McCain or Barak Hussein Obama should die before November, what happens?

I always wondered. I wish them no harm, but McCain is almost as Old as Reagan was when he left office, and Barack Hussein Obama has the same relative chance as anyone of having some serious illness or what have you. If either should die before the elcetion, then do Biden and Palin step in? Neither was voted for by the people…so…well anyway just curious.
I would also like some sources for the answers that are really answering. Like if it is Huckabee and Hillary Rodham Clinton (Love her) then how do we know this? If it is Sarah-Baracuda or Biden how do we know this?

This has happened. In 1968 Bobby Kennedy was taken out. The DNC Reconvened and chose McGovern. He lost by a lot. So if this occurs…even in this late date…the DNC or RNC has to reconvene and re choose.. The precedent is 1968. However I am unsure if there is a constitutional cause for this. If there is I do not know it.

So I hope this helps. Also unsure what happens this late in the game. That one was not so close to election as this timing would be.
