The Healthcare Overhaul misrepresentation

Without an iota of doubt those who are opposed to the Americans quest for justify healthcare coverage based on the potentials of this country may have succeeded in sowing the seed of discord in the minds and hearts of some of these vulnerable and defenseless members of the society, nevertheless I am convinced beyond reasonable doubt too that delay is not synonymous to denial.

One of the most crucial misrepresentation as the country finally take the necessary steps to correct the injustices rampant in the healthcare industry, and how the insurance companies have continued to milked the people of their lean resources even to the detriment of the economy is the argument that President Obama’s proposal is the same as a government takeover of healthcare services. This is fundamentally and emphatically incorrect and clearly a political calculation design to confuse Americans rather than enlighten them.

The current quest for overhauling the system is simply put to create an environment in which healthy, pragmatic and conscience incline competition prevails as opposed to the dogmatic and sentimental monopoly from giant healthcare insurance companies. It sincerely beat my imaginations that some Americans are falling for this kind of detrimental politicking that will essentially hurt the economy more, since the saying is true; “a healthy nation is a wealthy one.”

Secondly there is the argument that President Barack Obama is doing too much and pushing too hard to fulfill his campaign promises to the American people and opponents are willing to stake their integrity ( if any at all) at ensuring that he does not succeed! What a pathetic desire and inclination. The fact that some of our politicians are more concerned about how to defeat the good intentions and policies of the President, as opposed to their egocentric interests saturated with lobbyist’s mentality is actually a betrayal of trust and the mortgaging of the lives of those they are pretending to serve.

I have also been able to listen to some of us that attempt to bring religion into the healthcare issue. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that kind of inclination as long as we are honest, sincere and conscious of the fact that even God will not want us to cheat our fellow mankind. As the saying implies “when you do this to the least of my brethren you do it unto me.”

The simple way to understand part of the reasons why the President is bent on overhauling the healthcare industry even when he is not directly affected is essentially as a result of his conviction that God watches over everyone of us and we shall be held accountable for our actions too. The president is kindly referring to those of us that work in the healthcare industry as participants in the HEALING MINISTRY OF GOD!

For the first time in recent days, it is only President Barack Obama that has the audacity to address us for what we really are; physicians or healers not mere mortals that are strictly business men and women. My sympathy goes to those houses of faiths that have allowed them to become a beacon of opposition to the president’s goal simply because of some gray areas such as abortion among others. However the fact of the matter is that whether we disagree or agree on specific issue like abortion, embryonic stem cell study among others, this does not take anything out of the President Obama’s argument that we need to overhaul the healthcare industry. There are people of faith that agree and disagree on issues of which I have given an example above. What I do not believe we can disagree on is the argument that we should allow the healthcare industry’s status quo to be maintained even when it is not only hurting us but the economy.

The issue of cost cannot be overemphasized nevertheless will it be wise to assume that the cost of overhauling and attempting to sustain a modernize and humane healthcare industry is more expensive to the American people, the country and other tax payers than some of the retrogressive investment successive administration have made in the areas of national security? How many of us are not forgetting the colossal cost of the war in Iraq and that which is ongoing in Afghanistan and not to mention our involvement in other country’s affairs?

The thought of imagining that a giant country like the United States of America is claiming it cannot afford to care for its citizens, while at the same time attempting to project the image of a Father Christmas is both contradictory and ridiculing. I do not believe that the Republicans, some Democrats and even the Independents are aware of the oxymoron that is prevailing at the highest level, not to mention the hypocrisy and betrayal of trust by those we voted into power going behind us to side with the insurance companies and other undesirable elements.

I have had several conversations with lots of folks out there and during my interactions over 90% of them supports President Barack Obama’s quest to pass a sweeping healthcare reform that has the capacity of translating both the lives of Americans and the economy from the prevailing fiscal detriment to actual benefit with time. The fact that we are now allowing ourselves to become cut up with the same archaic arguments about cost, socialization and other kinds of dogmatism only manifest the obvious inclinations of the few powerful among us trying to maintain the kind of status quo that perpetuate their interests, pockets and wealth to the disadvantage of the country and its people.

It is a shame that some in the United States of America does not have both the political and moral capacity and audacity to support the presidents desire to provide healthcare for its citizens and would rather paint or misrepresents the later intention as a personal goal rather than a nationalistic quest to make America great again.

Summarily I do not believe for one beat that antagonist of the quest for a healthcare overhaul are pragmatic, nationalistic and even humane in their opposition to the call for a project that has the capacity to transform the lives of every Americans in a positive and optimistic fashion. Those opposed to the call for us (I mean physicians, nurses and other healthcare providers) to be truly healers rather than just business partners are nothing less than the typical greedy, self-centered, egocentric and detrimentally dogmatic human beings who careless for the less privilege. This is the time for us to take a courageous step and support the president so that America can be great again and also be in the position to provide healthcare coverage for its citizens in a better and competitive environment.

If we are a nation that does not promote any one religion over another, why is Obama meeting with the pope?

AP – Pope Benedict XVI stressed the church’s opposition to abortion and stem cell research in his first meeting with President Barack Obama on Friday, pressing the Vatican’s case with the U.S. leader who is already under fire on those issues from some conservative Catholics and bishops back home.

The Pope is the Titular Head of an independent principality; Vatican City.
I think it is safe to say that in all likely hood most US Presidents have paid a courtesy call to the Pope.
