Is The Old America History?

One can probably chalk it uo to “inexperience and or lack of maturity”. I am talking about Obama being on the Jay Leno program and cracking jokes at a time when millions of Americans have lost their jobs or are abou to do so. And why is he worring about filling out the March Basketball Madness, or at least why let it out to the press. These are more than serious times.

We can’t spend our way out of the recession, lest it becomes a DEPRESSION!

President Obama’s budget would generate deficits averaging almost $1 trillion a year over the next decade, according to the latest congressional estimates, significantly worse than predicted by the White House just last month. Does nyone think this is sustainable? We’re not yet at the first 100 day mark and things aren’t looking good from Waashington, D.C.

As Terence Coocoran wrote, “Helicopter Ben Bernanke’s Federal Reserve is dropping trillions of fresh paper dollars on the world economy, the President of the United States is cracking jokes on late night comedy shows, his energy minister is threatening a trade war over carbon emissions, his treasury secretary is dithering over a banking reform program amid rising concerns over his competence and a monumentally dysfunctional U.S. Congress is launching another public jihad against corporations and bankers.”

House Minority Leader John Boehner, R-Ohio,  said the report should serve as a wake-up call to the Obama administration. “Washington Democrats are learning a harsh lesson,” he said in a statement. “Their unprecedented spending binge will have some very severe consequences for taxpayers now and future generations for decades to come.”

One test of whether we are witnessing the end of America is how many more times Americans put up with congressional show trials of individual business people and their employees, slandering and vilifying them for their actions and motives. And for how long will they tolerate a President who berates business and corporations as dens of crime and malfeasance? If the majority of Americans come to accept the caricatures of business as true, then America is closer to the end of its life as a global leader, as a champion of markets and individualism.

So far it’s not looking all that good.

How can we accept the AIG bailout messes and then see Congress try and clean up their mistakes with yet a worse mistake of targeting a couple hundred people to TAX into infinity. Those they are going after NOW, could be you or I tomorrow. I don’t think the courts will uphold such a move and I imagine Congress knows that.  :-(
