Barack Obama: Speech at the Lincoln Memorial 1-18-09 Pre Inauguration

How can a person pray for our nation, yet not be “especially Christian” in their prayer?

CONCORD, N.H. – The first openly homosexual Episcopal bishop will offer a prayer at the Lincoln Memorial at an inaugural event for president-elect Barack Obama.

Robinson, 61, said both Obama and vice president-elect Joe Biden will attend the event, and Obama is expected to speak. As for himself, Robinson said he doesn’t yet know what he’ll say, but he knows he won’t use a Bible.

“While that is a holy and sacred text to me, it is not for many Americans,” Robinson said. “I will be careful not to be especially Christian in my prayer. This is a prayer for the whole nation.”

Well, well, well now, which God is Robinson going to pray to? Which God will answer his prayers? He is a hypocrite. If that man truly loved the God of the Bible, he would never condescend to pray a generic prayer. No Christian in their right mind prays generic prayers, just to please this one or that one, this group or that group. True Christians pray to the true God of the Bible, and no one else. If Robinson thinks his ‘god’ will answer his prayers he is nuts. For him to say the Bible is a sacred text to him, and then to pray so as to pacify others is hypocritical, and merits nothing. And, for Obama to give in to the pressure to ask this man is another act of hypocrisy, He is going to put his hand on the Holy Bible when he is sworn in as President, yet he is hypocritical in asking such a wishy washy man to pray in this fashion, The Bible calls all this ‘the blind leading the blind, and they shall both fall into the ditch’. May God have mercy on our nation.
