During the election last year there were two words that the Obama campaign did their best to steer away from and never use. Those two words were LIBERAL and HUSSEIN. Obama is now president. Things have changed! In case you’ve not looked recently, Obama has established himself, partly in light of the economic crisis, as the msot liberal president in history. And now that he’s headed to the Mid-east, the name Hussein is acceptable for use. 

Petrified of the potential political fallout of being branded a Muslim, Candidate Obama – a practicing Christian – never used the name “Hussein” and its use was frowned upon as a forbidden code for the nutty accusation that he was some kind of Islamic Manchurian candidate. No more. To say Barack Hussein Obama – BHO for short – now appears to be the height of political correctness.

He now says it proudly. He now says it out loud. The middle moniker that dared not speak its name during the election campaign is now front and centre of the US president’s attempt to woo the Muslim world, the theme of his visits to Riyadh on Wednesday and Cairo on Thursday. And good, bad, or indifferent, Israel now sees themselves as being isolated from America whether real or perceived. It’s a stark difference from the Bush days for Israel.

Obama is seeking to return to a Middle East policy based on realism – buttressed by the bona fides of his own multi-cultural background, which is Muslim.

In Strasbourg two months ago, the president tried out his full name. Days later in Ankara, he was introduced to the Turkish parliament by his full name. As ABC’s Jake Tapper and Sunlen Miller astutely outline here, the Obama administration is embracing the new president’s inner Muslim, as it were, with deputy national security adviser that Obama had “experienced Islam on three continents…growing up in Indonesia, having a Muslim father — obviously Muslim Americans [are] a key part of Illinois and Chicago”.

Just in case the Arab world hasn’t yet got this message of inbuilt tolerance, Obama himself has gone a step further. In an interview with France’s Canal Plus released on Tuesday evening, he suggested that the United States might be a Muslim country. Now that is a bit of a stretch.

Obama said he wanted to “create a better dialogue so that the Muslim world understands more effectively how the United States but also how the West thinks about many of these difficult issues like terrorism, like democracy, to discuss the framework for what’s happened in Iraq and Afghanistan and our outreach to Iran, and also how we view the prospects for peace between the Israelis and the Palestinians”.

It’s a lofty goal, an admirable one, but is it realistic? Only time will tell if Obama can reach out to the Islamic world and assure them that they have a place at the table. However, it’s the fringe terrorist Muslim world that will ultimately, and sooner than later, give us the answer to that question. The time is NOW!

Are we the ones we have been waiting for? 

Some allegations about Barack Obama have come to my attention. Does he have a radical muslim step-father?

This source of info. states that his father is a black muslim, his mother an athiest, and more importantly his step-father a radical muslim. It goes on to say that Obama’s family relocated to Indonesia when he was 6 years old and he attended a Wahabi school in Jakarta that schools children in the radical Muslim teachings followed by the Muslim terrorists that are now waging Jihad against the western world. This source also says that when he was sworn into office the Koran was used instead of the Christian Holy Bible even though he professes to belong to the United Church of Christ. The source states that he will not recite the Pledge of allegience nor will he show any reverance for the US flag. The Muslim terrorists say that they will destroy the US from within. Could these statements be true? Why are they not being brought out in the news media? If these statements are true , sould we even consider electing him to lead our country? The public should be informed.

Lolo Soetoro, whom Obama’s mother married when Obama was six, was an Indonesian muslim, but could not be described as a “radical muslim” by any stretch of the imagination. He died in 1987.

In Jakarta Obama initially went to a Catholic school and then to a state-run school which was secular in its outlook. The majority of students were muslim, because the majority of people in Jakarta are muslim.

The idea that an Indonesian public school in the late 60s was “Wahabi” in its outlook is absurd. It ignores the fact that Wahabist ideas only became current in Indonesia in the last decade or so, and Islamist radicalism is viewed with suspicion in that country. It certainly would not have been tolerated in a public school during the Soeharto years.

Obama is a Christian. The person who swore on the Koran was Rep Keith Ellison, who is in fact a muslim. (The Koran he swore on has previously belonged to Thomas Jefferson).
