Why is it that everyone seems to gang up on Mitt Romney due to his religious beliefs?

I find it very ironic that this, America, is suppose to be a land where you can practice any religion you want, yet a person who is a Mormon like Mitt Romney is getting disrespected due to the fact that he is a Mormon. The same with Barack Obama and his Middle Eastern background.

America is the land where you can practice any religion you want (well that is not exactly true) but that also means that you are completly free not to like another religion or have anything to do with it.

It is also important to understand that it is not possible to seperate what a person believes in terms of faith and how they live their lives.

If a person and their religion are seperate, then they don’t really have a religion as they do not live their lives by it. That tells us a lot about an individual.

A person who lives by their religion, we can look at their religion and see how they are going to act and live there lives.

There are things that are good about Romney and things that are bad about him.

As far as Romney and his Mormonism go (which is not a Christian religion btw), it is important to understand that he is a Stake President in the LDS so electing him president of the US is akin to electing an Archbishop of the Catholic Church President. If you are ok with that, that is fine. If you are not ok with that, that is also fine.
