Rev. Jesse Jackson apologized Wednesday for saying Barack Obama is “talking down to black people”?
Rev. Jesse Jackson apologized Wednesday for saying Barack Obama is “talking down to black people” during what Jackson thought was a private conversation before a FOX News interview Sunday.
Jackson was speaking to a fellow guest at the time about Obama’s speeches in black churches and his support for faith-based charities. Jackson added before going live, “I want to cut his nuts off.”
His microphone picked up the remarks
What do you think?
I really think that most people don’t get it. For some this is a chance to spring to the defense of Mr. Obama, because anyone that says anything against your candidate must pay with at least a wicked tongue lashing.
The other section of people are those that love taking swipes and Jesse Jackson, not matter what he says or does. This section of people have made their minds up long ago and it does not matter to them the facts or circumstances.
Now I am sitting here thinking that it is funny as all get out that Rev. Jackson said what he said, knowing that he would run to CNN and say he sorry. The whole thing is just funny to me.
Please remember my friends on the left that it was People like Jesse Jackson that put life and limb at risk in the Civil Rights movement of the 1960′s that we all benefit from today. So attacking him may be at the least disrespectful. If you disagree I am sure you can do it in a respectful tone.
Please also remember that Mr. Obama is not promoting anything as of yet the Rev. Jackson has not already talked about before. Yes, the circumstances were different, but the concepts the same. The rainbow coalition was a very cross-cultural political and social movement as was P.U.S.H. So, like it or not Obama-maniacs, We are all walking in the somewhat crooked footsteps of Rev. Jackson. Show some respect!
