Seiu Backs Obama

Polls are an interesting phenomena. Rasmussen came out this morning with their poll of Texas and they showed Clinton ahead 54-38%. Three hours later the American Research Poll came out showing Obama leading Hillary in Texas by a 48-42% differential. While polls can be misleading, the endorsement by the SEIU is not!

The U.S. service workers union is to endorse Obama this afternoon. That’s BIG!

The 1.9 million-member Service Employees International Union was expected to announce the endorsement later in the day, according to insider union officials. The SEIU, one of the fastest-growing labor organizations in North America, represents health care and other service industry workers.

The endorsement should help Obama in his battle for the Democratic presidential nomination against Sen. Hillary Clinton going into the March 4 primaries in Texas and Ohio. The two contests are crucial for Clinton, a New York senator who would become the first woman U.S. president.

The good news is that New Mexico finally counted all their votes. Hillary got one more delegate!

Primarily, the endorsement will allow Obama to tap into the Washington, D.C.-based union’s staff resources and fund-raising abilities to help his campaign. It is also just another in the line of endorsements that he’s collecting. Even some of the Super Delegates are now switching to Obama.

Representative John Lewis, an elder statesman from the civil rights era and one of Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton’s most prominent black supporters, said Thursday night that he planned to cast his vote as a superdelegate for Senator Barack Obama in hopes of preventing a fight at the Democratic convention. So what’s a gal to do? That’s as big as David Wilhelm switching to Obama.

Pray? Maybe get down and dirty and go on the attack? Probably!

How come Hillary Clinton has Half a superdelegate?

Ok how can Barack Obama have 276 superdelegates endorse him and Hillary has 271.5?

How can she have HALF a superdelegate? Is the superdelegate like undecided or unsure or something? Is he endorsing both Hillary and Barack? Does he not have enough credentials to be able to endorse her fully? I’m confused; how can she have half a superdelegate?

Delegate’s from territories which aren’t considered states only get half of a vote. She was endorsed by an odd number of super-delegates from these territories, giving her that half-delegate count.
