United We Stand

Almost everyone has heard the phrase or principle that a “house divided will fall”. The problem is not everyone agrees with it and some could care less if the house (name it) does fall. Barack Obama though has the opportunity that no president I know of since John F. Kennedy (yes that also includes Ronald Reagan) to UNITE our nation and even beyond our borders, the world.  <!–more–>

I said more than a year ago that Obama has the opportunity to bring racial reconciliation to our nation (not that he solves all problems!) and healing internationally (by virtue of his name if nothing else). Don’t hear that I am saying that he will, but that we have a WINDOW- an opportunity in spite of those who spread divisiveness, discord, and outright antagonisms as their daily menu.

Can you say Hannity & Rush?

Two days from the White House, President-elect Barack Obama joined a vast throng Sunday at a joyous pre-inauguration celebration staged among marble monuments to past heroes. “Anything is possible in America,” declared the man who will confront economic crisis and two wars when he takes office. Anything is possible!

And within “anything” is a UNITED nation- for however long it lasts, we’ll take it. At least I will.

Is Barack Obama too young for become President of the United States? ?

Barack Obama is 47 years old, but a lot of people say is not enough, he must be older. What do you think?

It’s more than his chronological age that makes him to young to be our president ;It’s that fact that he is too young in terms of work and life experience.
For all of the leadership skills that he supposedly has the fact of the matter is that he has never actually lead anything or anybody >not even a bowling team>so nobody knows whether or not he can actually lead anything …and some people such as myself think that the Oval Office is the wrong place for him to get OJT in how to lead .
In addition in terms of life experience Obama is basically a virginal young man that has never been tested by fire or tragedy .
In contrast the two presidents that were of a similar age to Obama [ TR & JFK ] had been tested by enemy fire and proven to be both heroic and worthy
Had been tested by life’s hardships and survived and became tougher
JFK had been given last rites four times prior to the final time in Dallas
Such experiences give a man a depth of character that simply can’t be faked or bought .
When life turns to worms those are the places that a man looks into and says to himself “It’s OK I’ve been here before and survived”
Think about this :
When the Putins of the world look into the McCain’s eyes looking for raw naked fear and a way to take advantage of the US do you think that they’ll see any ? How about Obama’s eyes?
So yeah because he is a very young 47 I think that he’s far too young to be president.
I personally think that his cause would have been better served if had spent 8 years as Hillary’s VP and then became president
