Why does not the government of the United States / BP just extract crude oil from the water?
In chemistry class we did an experiment that extracts polar nonpolar substances from substances why can not the government of the United States BP just stupid or to do than water (oil extraction and vacuum polar filter)? Is BP spilled work within the government United States or the United States government simply stupid?
Most components of crude oil is not polar - which do not mix not with water to float to the surface or sink depending on its density. You can not leave empty - and if you have what we are talking about some vacuum thousands of square miles of ocean that is simply UN-possible. Another problem is that the sea is in constant motion so that the oil flows, wind helps to create waves move the surface oil great distances in a few days. Basically you have large volumes of water process, some of them are deep and is probably a serious lack of people trained to work at these depths and equipment required.
