How did BP Oil Leak?

I'm in the chat with a person who believes that the oil leak BP is a conspiracy. He believes it is not marine life or shoreline was carried out by this "minor" spill. He said that his government has suspended the fish and there is almost no adverse effect on the nature or humanity. If you have a story first hand of an effect to direct you, please, let me listen.
