NOAA is opened over 8,000 square miles of fishing closures in the Gulf of Mexico
NOAA has opened more than 8,000 square miles of fishing area have closed in the Gulf of Mexico, because the Agency has not observed the oil in the region. The most significant is the opening of a field south of the Mississippi was closed on Monday, June 21. Also, some smaller regions were opened off the coast of Louisiana and central Florida.
