What can be done for a foreign company’s poor management operating in California?
I ended up in joining an Asian headquartered company in california, and now got stuck up with management politics.
Since I was asking them to take action to rectify the working environment, the management did not like it.They keep encouraging ‘hostile work environment’ by encouraging employees to participate in vulgar, sexual and offensive conversation and I am not comfortable in that environment.
I even wrote to headquartres, nothing happened, and as a retaliation, management took away all my duties and is not allowing me to participate in business activities.I heard the big boss saying to another colleague, that he wants me to get frustrated and quit. If I leave, I will have hard time to find another job,and if I work, they have created a poor working environment and Im afraid I will lose temper oneday.
What can I do and who should I approach to stop them? The entire management is corrupted in Asia and now they’re practicing the same in U.S. Need some serious advice please.Thank
You’ll have to way the pros and cons of the paycheck you’re currently earning with the emotional stress and poor work conditions.
If it’s true that your situation isn’t improving, you may have to start job-searching. However, if it’s true that they’re limiting your workload, you can put a spin on it where you can do your job-searching in the mean time. At least you’ll stil lbe earning a paycheck.
You’ll have a harder time finding a job while you’re unemployed. If they’re trying to corner you into quitting, there’s most likely no future in it. However, if you’re receiving a paycheck and your current situation is within tolerable limits for you to be job-hunting, you can at least take consolation in that.
Sitting in the situation you’re in and where the rest of the work force has shut you out and management doesn’t want to hear your complaints or ways of improving the business is a poor use of your talents. You might as well find a new place to work.
By the sound of it, I don’t think you’ll be missing much if you choose to part ways with that job.
