Here are ten viruses currently cited as the most widespread in terms of being seen as its ability to cause harm. New viruses are created every day. This is not an exhaustive list. The best thing to do is remain vigilant, keep your antivirus software updated and keep abreast of current threats from computer viruses.

Virus: W32/Mytob-EX
A mass-mailing worm and IRC Trojan similar in nature to W32-Mytob-GH. W32/Mytob-EX works continuously in the plane, providing a backdoor server which allows a remote intruder to gain access and control the computer via IRC channels. Virus: W32/Zafi-B
A peer-to-peer (P2P) and email worm that copies itself to the Windows system folder with a randomly named EXE file. This worm checks for the presence of a connection Internet trying to connect to www.google.com or www.microsoft.com.
