how is this future career plan?
I more than anything want to be an international news reporter.
My plan is to study BSc Economics, with a sandwhich course (city university london)
So then my econonomics would be really strong, which is a specialisation for journalism.
Then I would want to do masters at a good uni, (Pure politics)
And finally a second masters in MA television journalism
Between those 5-6 years I would be improving my french and doing internships especially in journalism and politics, as the economics work experience would be taken care of.
If I work with pure dedication, how many years could it take after I study to reach my goal?
Please give me feedback.
PS. Please DO NOT send me a link and say “here is the solution 2 your question”
I want to know INDIVIDUAL opinions.
I think it’s great that you are ambitious and you seem to have good plan.
My suggestion is to start with studying Journalism (I think having BSc in Economics is not necessary), so either start with Politics or Journalism.
Later you can decide on your masters once you are in your final year / the professors will help you there.
If you do a BSc in Journalism, then you will have all the chances to do internships related to your dream/ If you study Economics it will be harder.
I am not sure about French either, It’s not the top language to learn.. Think more about the language choice/ try to learn 2-3 languages
Your top priorities should be learning many languages/ reading and listening to the news everyday/ understanding economics and politics/ reading a lot of books…
You can reach your goal in 5 years .. Just work hard and make the most use of your time. Take it one step at a time.
Best of luck
