Is Beck’s left vs right political diagram a more accurate description of politics?
The traditional diagram of communists, socialists, liberals on the left in varying degrees, and conservatives, and Nazi’s on the right never ran true for me.
Mark Levin and Glenn Beck revive an alternate diagram of statists, or big government proponents on the left with anarchists – no government on the right. On this line, communists remain on the left, with Nazi’s then socialists and liberals close by, as central gov’t types. The Constitution on this line is about a third of the way from the right, with conservatives nearby. Today’s Democrats and Repubs are near each other about a third of the way from the left side.
This makes more sense to me since the only thing Nazi’s had in common with today’s right was nationalism and admiration for the military.
