On February 9, 2006, Bass has done a remarkable piece folklore Baltimore – the disappearance of his toupee in 1984.
As part of the local public radio station WYPR's Stoop Stories series, Bass told the story how it started to go bald mph in 20 years, and television news directors insisted he wear a hair piece. After years of wearing a wig, Bass has decided finally appear on WJZ in 1984 without a toupee. He went on vacation with a piece of hair, and returned from vacation, without a hair piece. The "news" in the hair that remained was Marty made worldwide by the Associated Press and UPI. Low recalled that in the end, he and WJZ decided to "retire" the old wig in Boca Raton, FL ("When the other parts of northwestern retired Baltimore hair go.") and it was stolen, first class in Florida for Piedmont Airlines.

In 2006, there was a popular political campaign that the governor elected under Maryland writing their vote. There was a similar campaign of low-elected President of the United States in 2008.
