Halloween costumes for couples provide a lot of fun and laughter. You don’t have to make the costumes expensive. You can create some of the best ones from items you already have at home. However, if you want to go a little more elaborate, there are plenty of ideas from which to choose.

Good and Evil:

You don’t have to be a male/female couple to use the idea of good and evil as a base for costumes. Of course, good is an angelic creature complete with wings and a halo. You can use a choir gown, silky bathrobe fastened in the back or other draping material as the base. Add a gold or silver cord for the belt.

Cut out wings of cardboard and cover them with gold or silver foil. Make a halo of wire covered with foil and attach it to a headband and you’ve got the perfect little angel. A blond wig makes the outfit complete.

Evil dresses in black, has pitch black hair and maybe even a dog collar with spikes for a necklace if it’s a female. Use olive green make-up to give a ghostly cast to the complexion and deep coloring on the eyes.

Halloween costumes for couples can come from memories of the past. If you want a no fuss outfit that can come from your closet, with the addition of a prop or two, come as Barbie and Ken.

The props are simple. Get a refrigerator box and cut two pieces about two feet taller than the height of the tallest person. Cut the center out of the cardboard leaving a boarder that’s approximately two feet at the top, one foot on each side and two feet from the bottom. Paint the remaining shell to look like a Barbie or Ken doll box.

Make sure you proximately display the name Barbie or ken. Punch two holes through the cardboard at each side and slide through brass fasteners to fasten wide cloth or plastic handles to hold the box as you walk. Barbie just needs a blonde wig and for an extra special effect, attach cellophane on the interior to cover the opening you cut for the front of the box.

There are a number of other Halloween costumes for couples that require a little more effort. You can come as a famous American couple such as Michelle and Barack Obama, Bill and Hilary Clinton, or historic characters such as Cleopatra and Marc Anthony or Julius Caesar. If those Halloween costumes for couples aren’t exactly what you wanted, consider Hercules and Xena, Warrior Princess, two hot items from the past.

Other non-human selections can include salt and pepper, mustard and ketchup, a pair of dice, Rocky and Bullwinkle, two eyeballs, a bottle of whiskey and a glass, a hot dog and bun or toothpaste and a toothbrush. For those of a political nature, try an elephant and a donkey. The list of Halloween costumes for couples is endless if you just use your imagination. Some of the best ones require little effort but a lot of ingenuity.
