Something came to Canada 25 years ago. The term "diversity" has become our symbol. It was a new word, we have adopted, and made us feel cold to accept it. We lead the world in diversity, the cost of losing our own identity. Unfortunately, diversity is the opposite of what makes this country so great. We were a melting pot. Families around the world have become "Canadians" were proud to be Canadian. Not Indo-Canadian English, Irish or Canadian, they were all just Canadians, and were proud to be part of the country. We were taught in school that diversity was cool. Not accept people from other ways were wrong. We were told that the new people in the country did not accept the way of North America. We were encouraged to preserve their language, even we've created part of their culture in our schools. We have changed our laws to accommodate them, rather than to honor our laws. If people put us down, that's what we converted. Not much time they have a post to Canadians, asking: What it means to be Canadian. Unfortunately, people could not give a coherent answer. When asked the same issue in 1970, there was a basic response. The Liberals won, Canada missed. I hope this answers your question. Saddened by the elderly people.,
