What is the name of the movie about a woman in politics and a sex tape from a party that could ruin her?
It’s from the late 90′s I think, with a woman actor who is in a decent number of movies (movie buffs would recognize her). I don’t remember any marquee actors.
Basically this woman was either running for or in political office and a tape of her having sex with a bunch of guys while drunk when she was in college surfaces and there is some blackmail or potential scandal or something… This is driving me crazy. I can’t find the name anywhere!
It is called “The Contender” starring Joan Allen, Gary Oldman, Jeff Bridges, and Christian Slater and was released on October 13, 2000 with a tagline of “Sometimes you can assassinate a leader without firing a shot”. It was written and directed by Rod Lurie
