Dolci Shoes was a shoe retailer in the United Kingdom.
History
The company began life in a street cart in 1863 when John Upson started selling shoes in Woolwich town market. Business increased, and the truck, got his first store in Woolwich called the Great Boot Provider.
In 1920, the company went public and began Dolci name appear on the doors of the workshop. Is believed to have raised the name of a Swiss brand of socks. In 1956, part of British Society of shoes and in 1967 he was transferred to Leicester. Dolci was elected in 1988 by the British Shoe Corporation as a company driver for the installation of EPOS.
In 1998 the company was purchased by Dolci Alexon Group and moved to Luton. In 2006 Dolci Alexon sold for a transaction involving the Scottish retail entrepreneur John Kinnaird. Kinnaird announced an ambitious renovation plan for chain stores, fashionability momentum of its products and updating the brand. The plans have been back to see 20 stores by the end of 2007, another 20 in the first half of 2008 and the rest later this year.
In late 2007, Dolce has 65 High Street branches in the United Kingdom. Besides these there Dolci also grants 150, especially in the Bay trade shops and envy. In 2007 began Dolci e-commerce.
Administration
The company made losses of? 6m a year on sales? $ 62 million in shoes.
