government— current events project?

i have to do a project for my advanced government class. it is a college level course for highschoolers. i have to have 2 articles from online or newspaper for each branch of government; legislative, executive, judicial and interest groups. i also have to two political cartoons and extra credit is researching 3rd parties. if anyone can help or has any websites for good info please let me know thanks

The CATO institute has a lot of articles, mostly by very-highly qualified sources:

One pretty fast way to get alot of that stuff is just go to Google News or something, and search for some controversial topic, like Illegal Immigration. Should pop up with a ton of results, in this case executive, legislative and special interest would probably all be within the first three pages of results. A search on NATO would probably have some Executive stuff (the military) and abortion would probably have all of those.

Political cartoons: http://comics.com/ has a section for editorial cartoons. Should be able to find some in there.
