Politics Minor Nyu

is my major good?

hi….i am currently enrolled in NYU as a international politics major with a minor in pre-business. however, ive been having conflicting interests. I’m starting to love economics (due to my professor) and now game theory study in my international politics has gotten me confused. So I am debating whether to stay with my current agenda (major: int’l politcs, minor: pre-business) OR….change to a major in economics and minor in int’l politics. I love politics, but im starting to love economics.

I ultimately want to work in the business/corporate sector. I don’t want to get into politics, yet i love it. pre-business allows me to take business courses in our business school. however if i do economics as a major, and pre-business as a minor. than i would forfeit credit i took in IP. I need HELP! suggestions?

The education you get is more important than the major, These two things usually go together. It is hard, for example, to get a good education to become an engineer without getting an engineering degree.

In your case, I think you can break into the field that interests you with either major. Get a major in one & take a lot of classes in the other.

Personally, I would choose economics — but that is me.

Good luck. You are at a great place for either major.
