History Has Been Made – Viva President Barack Obama

Currently many Kenyan citizens are still taking about Barrack Obama’s presidency considering his father was Kenyan. The latest news has been his planned tour to Africa, many had thought that Kenya would be his obvious destination, there are speculations flying all over but the reasons raised are “here nor there”. The reality is that his move has been precipitated by the glaring failure of Kenyan leadership in governance.

Barrack’s victory truly is an African victory and being an African myself I am in the front-line of celebrating this victory “viva barrack”. He has become the first black American to get to the white house( we hope he wont also be the last) and that’s no ordinary fete by any standard. His cool demeanor has been a great asset in his campaign and the presidency especially at this time when confidence has been eroded among the American people and hopelessness all-pervading the human race due to global recession, indeed he inspire hope.

Again Barrack has shown a rare leadership quality that of inspiring and galvanizing the populace for a common action plan, we can be sure that if he continues in this trend the world will become a better place of course not to mention leaving a legacy after his presidency.

However there are issues that make me get concerned regarding his policies that I feel I need to bring them onto public debate. Firstly I see a perceived trend of going easy on terrorists and terrorist government in the Middle East. Of a truth there is need for dialogue even with your enemies as they say ” bring your enemy closer” but my concern is in the way this administration is going about it.

A good example is the way the Clinton’s administration went easy on security issues and we all know what happened “9-11″ another present example is Israel and Palestinian, we should not compromise Israel security in the name of creating a Palestinian government considering Hamas has adamantly stated that it does not recognize the Jewish community and Iran continued insistence that the holocaust never happened.

This administration should come up with clear cut “rules of engagement” with rogue governments and seek to strengthen ties with her allies. Secondly I have a problem with the way Obama is handling the moral issues affecting the American people. Allowing for partial birth abortion in the name of freedom of choice for the mother is indeed a fallacy because one may ask what rights does the child have after all he/she is a human being, on the same note funding of abortion clinics sent a wrong signal that this government is not concerned with moral issues. History shows that these moral decays contributed to the collapse of civilizations.

Fourthly, we know that the democratic party has always been indifferent to Africa, Barrack needs to change that, after all he is African. In spite of the glaring mistakes of the Bush administration he payed a great interest to African welfare and we expect this and more from this administration. Lastly and equally important is Obama’s seemingly over addiction to media. It seem he is willing to do anything to be in good books with the media houses and that is not healthy to the presidency. This trend makes many suspicious that Obama is a product of the media, the danger is that people will get tired (remember Tony Blair).
Barrack has to come out as his own man because know every one is looking for decisive leadership, and a decisive leader is one who will stand with what is right even when everyone is opposed to it. After all has been said I affirm again”VIVA BARRACK” And all the best.
