Silvio Berlusconi in racism row over ‘suntanned’ Barack Obama aside?

I heard about this early & was completely shocked by such a moronic comment that was made by Mr Berlusconi about the soon to be president of the free World & I feel that Obama should deserve more respect than stupid jokes about his race.
What do you think of all this?

It’s journalists and Italian PM’s opponents who’re trying to creat a big deal out of nothing. I have to agree with Mr. Berlusconi:
“Mr Berlusconi said he had intended the remark as a compliment and those who failed to understand this were “imbeciles”.
P.S. Obama is the next president of the USA, not of the whole world. Don’t be childish.
