Role Political Parties Congress

Can u make comparison with US & Asian Political system?

Usually in south asia, we have so many political parties unlike in America or UK where as i see in the news itz only 3 (Rep, Dem & Ind) in the meantime whatz the role of Senate & House of representatives? In Asia we have parliament and those who are elected as member of parliament is awarded with ministries but how this is handled in US? Is it senators or house of representatives chosen as Ministers? And finally is congress is something similar to the parliament or what?

Thanks for everyone who answer this.

Each of the 50 states can send 2 Senators to congress. This allows each state equal say in the political process

Each state sends a number of Representatives to the House, the other half of Congress, to represent them. The thing is, Representatives in the House correlate with the population of each state, so a more populous state has more Representatives than a less populous state.

It all arose from debate about whether the states should have equal say in the political process or whether it should depend on population. Our congress is a compromise, the Senate was developed so each state has an equal say, the House for those who thought population should determine how much say each state has, dependent upon population.

Neither has ministries, they simply retain the legislative power, with set rules governing how each half of Congress interacts with each other in making laws. Each half retains specific powers, and often they share powers as well. Congress, the House and Senate combined, is simply one of 3 branches of government.
