John McCain tried to blow the whistle on Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac over two years ago. In 2006, he told the Senate, “For years, I have been concerned about the regulatory structure that governs Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac…. The GSEs need to be reformed without delay.”

That would be every politician in the country. I agree that Osama and Kerry are monsters, but this was kind of a redundant question. Who monitors the monitors, who polices the police? You used to be able to count on the press for this, but with this whole Osama ’08 debacle, the press are showing their true colors.
