Is it possible for me to have my name struck off the electoral roll?

With quality politicians becoming a rare breed and criminals and anti-socials joining politics I have become disenchanted with the system of patiently waiting in line to cast my vote to select a goon from many. Is it possible for me to approach the Election Commission of India to have my name struck off till such time they introduce another button in the EVM, i.e., “None of the above”?

You do not have to do that. On election day, just stay at home and watch TV.

Revealing why Hindu-Muslim riots in India break out when and where they do, Steven Wilkinson demonstrates why some state governments in India prevent Hindu-Muslim riots while others do not or even help to incite violence. Wilkinson asserts that riots are manipulated to help win elections, and that state governments decide whether to stop them–depending on electoral calculations concerning the lo…

Primary Parade

What began in Iowa last week will be essentially completed in less than thirty days or come February 5. The Iowa caucuses January 3 decided who would get 57 delegates. Today, New Hampshire could seal the fate of a couple of more candidates with only 30 delegates at stake in Michigan all their delegates stripped by the Democratic Party and do not know, Hillary is the only one who voted on January 15th!

We have two very important primary at the end of the month.

South Carolina is 26, with 54 delegates and then comes the Florida 29, but the Democratic Party stripped of all delegates and move early in the calendar year. The latest poll shows Barack Obama has jumped over Hillary and now has an advantage two digits. Is Barack Obama becomes invincible?

The real issue is that come February 5 feet is called "Super Tuesday"?

The next question is: Who has the money enough to buy television advertising, as it will be impossible to give attention to the Super Tuesday states like Iowa and New Hamoshire received. For you, 22 states have their primaries on February 5 and there are 2075 delegates at stake among these 22 states are six very large as California 441 delegates, Hillary New York, with 281 delegates, and Barack Obama of Illinois with 185 delegates. New Jersey, Massachusetts and Georgia are the other three with a combined 350 + delegates.

And then we'll see if Michael Bloomberg has made decisions on which party candidates are. Do you like Obama square off Giuliani Hillary Huckabee horror story (which is definitely the hands of the natives of Arkansas), or be Obama, Romney and Bloomberg is still on the sidelines.

Just think. In less than one months, we know much more about how things go between now and 2008. Maybe!

The Electoral College selects

The last two presidential elections have been stronger. In 2000, he made a difference in Florida and Ohio in 2004. Unless things change dramatically in the last week of campaigning, Obama is running the election in the important moments in the electoral college. The survey stable trend is increasingly to Obama in the last two weeks. Of course, this may change in the last week, but here the hill McCain must climb.

It takes 270 votes to be elected U.S. president.

As for the surveys ranges from three sources I consider reliable shows:

> Karl Rove ……. Obama 317, McCain Blend until 64 157
> Rasmussen ….. Obama 313, McCain 174 Mix 51
………..> Zogby Obama 286, McCain 174 Toss up to 78

It is a challenge, if not impossible to overcome in just seven days. Obama has more than enough votes to win now and can be added to the total and an exploration electorl: in terms of electoral votes. While the daily tracking polls are interesting to global trends, do not give a overview as to who will win the seat.

An index is where the candidates are in the final week of campaigning. And the answer is in the states red for Bush in 2004. Not only did McCain stay in the Red States playing defense, Obama Is play offense. Not a good omen. RED Staes and five places in 2004 in the blue column of this cycle of states (Iowa, New Mexico, Virginia, Colorado and Florida). And the currency of 51 states, Rasmussen said, all were red states in '04 (Missouri, Ohio, Nevada, North Carolina).

More bad news is that in these four states move up, Obama leads in polls of opinion, but the margin of error.

It's the electoral college that elects and with only a week to go, Obama is strong! But anything can happen in political life. Thomas E. Dewey is a good reminder of 1948. :-)

Many people complain about the complex system used to nominate presidents. The system is hardly rational because it was never carefully planned. Because of the dissatisfaction over the idiosyncrasies of the current system, periodic calls arise to reform the presidential nomination process. But how are we to make sense of the myriad complexities in the system as well as in the calls for change? …

Electoral College

Many people watch the Gallup and USAToday poll on wht daily changes there are in popular vote opinions, whihc are simply that, opinions. One day Obama is up by 6, then 8, then 10, now tied. It’s a lot of hype over nothing much. The real thing that one needs to remember (Government #101), is that the peson who wins the most electoral votes wins!

There’s no doubt that John McCain comes out of the Republican Convention with his base, his right wing, emboldened! Sarah Barracuda has done for him what his more independent persona could not. So, he has the momentum and with the expected “Convention bounce“, the race should be once again tied.

But the real race is not tied!   :-)

You see, it takes 270 electoral votes to win the presidency, not a majority of the popular vote, not even a plurality ans Bill Clinton discovered in 1992. The latest Zogby poll on the electoral map is as follows:

>Obama (safe or leaning)……….260
>McCain (   “   “      “    )……….173
>Toss Up………………………….105

So, as you can see, it’s a BIG DIFFERENCE in who is ahead and who is currently winning. All of this will change, but it’s what needs to be looked at and not what the popular vote polls of registerd, likely to vote, or whatever category one wants to speak. The big one in the toss up category with 20% of that number is Ohio with 23 votes. One state, Indians (12) would give Obama the election.

Check out the electoral college vote and make a copy for yourself and watch these numbers for a true picture of who is winning. And watch where the candidates go to campaign. McCain wont spend any time in new York, except for a fund raiser as Obama won’t be spending any time in West Virginia (only 6 electoral votes) and it’s mainly a blue collar, working class, and all those other dynamics that don’t take a shine to Obama’s politics.
