bp oil spill waiver

The key to good local governance is always focus and thus, voters need to choose a local city council candidate that is committed, driven and focused on the issues and challenges that are most important. Each voter must determine the most important issues that they are concerned with and then make an honest assessment of the most viable candidates running for city council.
As a case study let us consider Palm Desert California and look at some of the issues that folks are concerned about in that upscale world class community. First, it must be noted that the city is run very well. City services are robust and it is a very safe place to live and work. Economic conditions are good and being a snow-bird type desert resort sure gives it an advantage. Many other cities in Riverside County do not come close to Palm Desert in beauty, economics, public safety and reputation.
So, considering all this and looking at the latest election with three city council seats open, who might you choose to vote for? Well, let us look at one candidate that has considered the issues he will focus on:
- Lowering energy costs at City Hall
- Preserving the heritage of the city
- Keeping the city beautiful
- Safe Schools
- Good Policing
In such a city these are important issues to the citizenry and thus, this is a great platform that is sure to get a lot of votes from citizens of this desert resort area. It must be remembered that all politics is local and you must always vote for a candidate that is accessible, committed and focused. Looking at City Council Candidate Ray Cunningham, he appears to be all those things and he is going to knock on 10s of thousands of doors to prove it.
City council candidates must always consider what is on the minds of the voters and maintain a strong platform. This means that they must not waiver on their core values or major points of their platform. It will require focus to stand tall in the face of opposition and yet isn’t that what the voters are looking for when it comes to their local leaders. Ray Cunningham is a good example for this case study, as are many of the 10s of thousands of good candidates who run for city council positions each year in this nation. Not every one will walk the walk. Think on this.
Why did Obama sign another waiver for BP on friday?
He signed another waiver on safety regulations that, if enforced, could have prevented the oil spill in the first place. Makes no sense. Demand changes to make the process safer, then sign waiver allowing them to continue as is.
THEY ARE BIG CONTRIBUTORS OF HIS.. OOPS.. WE WEREN’T SUPPOSED TO KNOW THAT.
Barry has a price tag on his back, you know!
