What does "hard and fast" mean?
As ….. "I do not want the rules to get all hard and fast, or "This policy is played fast and hard, I dress'….. used in different contexts and I have curiosity …..
Difficult, because these two sentences the phrase means something completely different. "It's hard and fast" rules are rules that can not be met. There is a strange feeling of "fast" that is to "establish, secure" is used here. You can also say I do not want the rules to be set in stone. "But to play" hard and fast "Means to react quickly, not necessarily a fair playing field, certainly play to win. (As you throw the ball hard and fast.)
