How do you inculcate interest in politics amongst the youth?
How do you promote activism? Majority of the young adults i know of prefer to remain ignorant in political issues, refuse to get involved, or are just politically apathetic. I assume that this is due to lack of interest, fear (oppositions of government regarded as dissidents) or the culture cultivated by the government where the youth and students should only read their schools books and focus on nothing else. This is in Malaysia.
In order to get youths or anyone under the age of 30 more interested in politics is to educate them as to how it affects them. If there were more discussions on issues that affect them then they would be more interested. It would also take realistic education as to how and why elected officials do their jobs. Activism doesn’t work until it affects the financial bottom line of government.
